GOAL Alert 99-2

KOMO-TV (Seattle Ch 4) will conduct a live "Town Hall" meeting to address the Colorado school shooting incident and school safety in general. The meeting will be held Sunday evening, April 25th, from 6-7 p.m.

There will be a panel discussion about school safety, and questions/comments from the audience. In the past, KOMO has generally been fair about running a 50-50 audience mix.

Free tickets to the hearing may be obtained by calling (206) 443-4186. I just (0900, Wednesday a.m.) tried that number and got a recording for their pre-recorded event. I'm sure the recording will change.

It is important that the gun-rights community be:

1. Represented by well-dressed individuals;
2. Who can articulate our side of the issue without coming across as rednecks.

Most Goal Post list members fit 1 and 2 above. Please make the commitment to attend.

NRA Annual Meeting Changes
The following letter is being mailed by the NRA to its members in Colorado.

Dear NRA Member:

We are writing to ask for your patience, your prayers, and your presence.

We had long looked forward to the 1999 Denver meeting and exhibitions as a time to conduct necessary NRA business, enjoy your fellowship, express our unity and celebrate our precious freedoms.

But the tragedy in Littleton last Tuesday calls upon us to take steps, along with dozens of other planned public events, to modify our schedule to show our profound sympathy and respect for the families and communities in the Denver area in their time of great loss.

For that reason, we have canceled the Exhibit Hall Exposition and all other seminars, luncheons and festive ceremonies normally associated with our annual gathering.

Instead, we will only conduct the Annual Meeting of Members at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, in the Colorado Convention Center, as required by New York not-for-profit statutes which govern our Bylaws. Saturday night's member's Reception with Oklahoma Representative J. C. Watts will also remain scheduled.

Our spirits must endure this terrible suffering together, and so must the freedoms that bring us together. We must stand in somber but unshakable unity, even in this time of anguish.

That's why we need you, more than ever, to attend this gathering.

Each of us, Charlton Heston and Wayne LaPierre, will make a major address on the crisis all Americans now face, and we will do all we can to help your voice be heard.

In light of these changes, we ask you to give us your patience, to give the families of Littleton your prayers, and to give freedom your presence at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, May 1.

Sincerely,

(Signed)
Charlton Heston
President

Wayne LaPierre
Executive Vice President

Where are the catalogs?
Dealer catalogs are here!!! We have made our main bulk mailing, and if you send an FFL you should receive one shortly. Our Retail catalogs are being worked on at this time and should be ready very soon. Give us a try at the end of May '99 and hopefully we can get you one!

NEW - National Match Receivers!
OlyArms is proud to introduce new NM lower receivers! These receivers are as close to spec as you can get. We use only our best hand picked forgings, have them cryogenically treated, and CNC machine them to near zero tolerance! The cryo treatment ensures that the material remains stable during the machining process with no "stretching" of the forging. The dimensions remain perfect to the print because of the "relaxed" nature of the stress relieved part.

MSRP is only $150 each, with a hand-matched A2 upper for $220/set, or with a hand-matched flattop upper for $234/set. These receivers must be ordered through a federally licensed firearms dealer. Call and get yours today!
