SB 1500 in CA - More junk from the Golden State
This is Polanco's "Junk Gun Bill", and is very similar to last year's SB 500, which the Governor vetoed (though Polanco claims it meets the Governor's objections). This bill would ban the sale and manufacture of any revolver with less than a 3 inch barrel and any pistol with a frame length of less than 6 inches, and any pistol without a "positive manually operated safety device".

This includes the Chief's Specials, the Colt Detectives, and every other snubby made. The semi-auto portion would ban just about every new model of semi-auto designed to make it easier for law- abiding citizens to comply with the new CCW statutes sweeping the nation. The Safety Device issue would likely include almost every DAO semi-auto including the Glocks, Kahrs, and S&W; Sigmas.

For more information, the text of the bill and the analysis of this bill (and all other CA bills) is available here.

Where are the catalogs?
Our catalogs are coming late this year for varius reasons. For those of you who have been trying to get one, make your request about the middle of June and we should be able to get one to you then. Thanks for your patience!
Whoops!
We were sent this recently. I would not suggest this method of barrel cleaning, as it would appear to work too well.
Gun-Shy to Target Shooter
Got this from my favorite visitor. If only every reporter would research before they spout off. Great story Mr. B!
New for '98
Olympic Arms is proud to announce that our receivers will now come with a mil-spec hard anodizing! We may see some short delays in delivery as our coater also does work for Boeing, and they come first. MSRP on our stripped lowers is $99 - the lowest from any manufacturer!
Also new is our OA-93TG. See it here!
Frankenstein at it again
Senator Dianne Feinstein recently introduced a bill in the U.S. Senate that would ban the importation or transfer of any magazine over 10 round capacity, regardless of when it was made. Transfers to or between individuals would be completely banned. If this bill becomes law, you could keep what you already own, but couldn't even legally GIVE ONE AWAY to a friend! The proposed law would freeze the number of high capacity magazines in private hands. Contact your U.S. Senators and ask them to strongly oppose this back-door gun confiscation scheme!

S. 1887 must be stopped! Please also contact your representative and urge him/her to oppose the House version, H.R. 3609.
