Clinton Admits Support of Registration
NRA has consistently labeled Bill Clinton as the most anti- gun President this nation has ever known; however, he is politically savvy and has been reluctant to go on record in support of proposals like national licensing and registration of gun owners. Until now. On Friday, 6/4, Clinton appeared on ABC's "Good Morning America," where he made it clear that his agenda is to restrict our right to keep and bear arms to the fullest extent. Referring to the recent attacks on gun shows, and in an attempt to placate critics who claim he is not going far enough in his attacks on the Second Amendment, Clinton stated, "...I have made it perfectly clear that I want to get [Lautenberg] passed in the House. Then we will come back and try to pass some more things...." He went on to state, "Should people...have to register guns like they register their cars? Do I think that? Of course, I do." You can also go here to read an article by attorney Stephen Halbrook on how the Nazi government of Germany used gun owner registration programs to confiscate firearms. This article will also appear in the August 1999 issue of the American Rifleman.

Columbine Revisited
I received an e-mail that I feel must be reprinted here. I strongly suggest that you read it, and then read it again. This is the best article I have read in a very long time, and I feel it is a much better reflection of who we truly are than what Clinton and his ilk would lead us to believe.

Military Sniper Weapon Regulation Act of 1999
Watch out! We have been predicting this for quite some time, and now it has come to pass. They are starting with .50 caliber rifles now, but it is a simple thing to change .50 to .40 then .30... Contact your Reps ASAP and let them know that this bill is totally unacceptable. You can read a copy of H.R.2127 here.

House Republicans Split Youth Crime Bill
House Republicans yesterday threw the gun debate planned for today into new disarray with a surprise proposal to split it into two bills — one focusing on youth crime and violent culture and a second on gun shows. Republicans said they structured the debate that way to make it cleaner and simpler, but surprised House Democrats said it would create procedural and political obstacles to passing new gun-control measures. Both sides agreed the vote could be extremely close, with centrists from the suburbs casting the deciding votes.

By isolating the gun show vote, Republicans — and probably some 30 to 40 pro-gun Democrats from mostly rural regions — would have a chance to oppose that highly contentious measure. But they could still vote for the youth crime bill, minus the guns, and say they were responding to school violence. House Republicans are adding provisions restricting teenage access to violent films and other entertainment, and they want tougher youth crime provisions, such as mandatory long prison terms if a gun is used in a crime. Judiciary Committee Chairman Henry Hyde, a lead author of the bill, said Congress must consider the cultural factors.

Rosie O'Donnell & K-Mart - still
After Rosie's rant with Tom Selleck, K-Mart received hundreds of calls from angry viewers. Despite the calls, K-Mart said it has no plans to fire O'Donnell as celebrity spokeswoman. "We've discussed the issue with her and we know her stance," a spokesman for K-Mart said. "We believe in safe and responsible sales and she has a right to express her opinion." O'Donnell sees no contradiction in representing the Troy, Mich.,-based chain because "she understands about hunting; she's very strong for gun locks. But she's also about 'Do we need Uzis to go hunting?'" O'Donnell spokeswoman Lois Smith said. Unfortunately, that is NOT the same line she has been spewing on her show. She has said many times that only the police and military should own guns, and that anyone else who is caught with a firearm should go straight to jail. Period. How that is not a contradiction is beyond me.

Now, the nice thing is that we can fight her two ways.

#1 - She, along with AcmeCity, is offering 20MB of free webspace to anyone who abides by AcmeCity's terms of use - basically no smut or commercial sites. Check ours out, and then make one of your own! Tell her and the rest of the world what you think of her. You can aCLASS="nav2" STYLE="text-decoratioCLASS="nav2" STYLE="text-decoration:none" n:none" lso find links to other Rosie/RKBA pages here.

#2 - She is still a "spokes-thing" for K-Mart; a company that makes a part of its profit from firearms sales. They claim that they defend O'Donnell's freedom of speech, but that wasn't the story when they fired Fuzzy Zoeller the golfer for making a joke. And as stated above, Rosie's spin Dr's say she is not against gun ownweship, but it's an outright lie. Be sure to state these facts when you make your complaint. Dial 1-800-635-6278 then press "2" to talk to a customer service rep. You can also contact K-Mart via the Internet by going here, then using the "Comment" option. Let them know that Rosie O'Donnell is STILL making anti-gun demands on her show. Tell them straight out that you'll shop elsewhere until they fire her.
