Cryo Metal Treatment is a computer-controlled scientific dry process which relieves stress in firearm barrels and other parts. Stresses cause a barrel to bend or warp as it heats from repeated firing. This warping causing a stringing, walking or wandering effect in the shot group. After the deep cryogenic tempering process, the barrel will no longer bend or warp. The end result is firearm barrel with increased performance - in accuracy, barrel life, and ease of cleaning. This process works the best with our button-cut barrels. Our broached barrels will not see a vast improvement in accuracy as there is little residual stress remaining after manufacture.
