Olympic Arms Free Floating
Integral Rail System Handguard.
(FIRSH)
First we start with a one piece aluminum extruded tube that is formed under pressure and heat for strength. You can see from the picture on the right that the rails are not a separate part from the tube, the rails are part of the tube! This is what makes the Oly rail handguard system different from all the rest. It is strong, durable and versatile.

Additionally, installation of this handguard WILL NOT interfere with the gas tube, like some of the other manufacturers handguards do.

When the rail system handguard is mounted onto a flat top upper you have a look that is smooth, and continuous.

If you'll notice, this first of the prototype (F7R & F8R) FIRSH handguards do not have the standard picatinny slots. This has been corrected with the production FIRSH handguards.

From this photo, one can see the unique locking nut system developed by Olympic's in house inspector Paul Stevens. By the using of a small slot cut in the tube itself at the base of the handguard over the barrel nut, and the use of a small hex-head screw system, the rail system handguard can be locked into place without the worry of it coming loose while firing, or working from a prone position like some other handguards do that utilize a "locking ring" system. This nut really locks in tight!
Also, you'll notice here that the rails are perfectly aligned, just the right height!

Again, you will notice that the slots on the upper receiver and the FIRSH handguard do not have the same spacing between their mounting slots. This has been corrected and all slots are now picatinny standard on all production F7R & F8R handguards.

You cannot go wrong with the Oly Free floating Integral Rail System Handguard. It is simply the best.
