--WAC Elections to be held in February
This February, the Washington Arms Collectors (WAC) will be holding it's annual elections for the Board of Directors. Olympic Arms is sponsoring the following three individuals: Michael Kelly, Don Roberts, and Delbert Gilbow. We, and many others, feel that it is time for a change in the Board in order to better represent the people of Washington State as a whole, rather than any one region. Information on the candidates is as follows:

Michael "Mike" Kelley-
Mike has been an active member of WAC for over 20 years. During that time he has been very active on both sides of the tables at the monthly gun shows as both a buyer and a seller. He was an annual table holder for 12 years. He is an Endowment member of the NRA and a member of the Founders Club of the NRA Whittington Center. He is an NRA Firearms Instructor, and a Washington & New Mexico Hunter Education Instructor. On the state level he is a Patron member of the Cascade Rifle and Pistol Club and Director of the Junior Program for four years. Mike has the experience and knowledge to help direct the Club in the future.

Don Roberts-
Don is known by most WAC members as a collector of military rifles. During the gun show each month he can be found just West of the membership booth. Don came up through the ranks in the US Army from Private to full Colonel, and is one of very few solders who hold the combat infantry-man's badge with two stars. His wife excluded, hunting is Don's real love and he knows the Olympic Peninsula's geography like the back of his hand. He lives on a 20 acre ranch near Port Angeles, and it is there where he founded the North Olympic Peninsula Phone Tree (NOPT). With nearly 400 members, NOPT is the strongest local pro-gun grassroots organization in the state. Don is an activist in the true sense of the word. He has years of command and staff experience and is not in the least reticent about taking responsibility or making decisions.

Delbert Gilbow-
Del is known to most as the grassroots coordinator for WAC. He is also the grassroots coordinator for Gun Owners of America, and liaison between NOPT and other activist groups. He is the founder and president of WFWF, and worked with hunters and sportsmen throughout Washington State recently to help defeat I-676. Delbert holds a masters degree in anthropology from WSU, and life memberships in the GOA and the NRA. He grew up in western Colorado where packed elk hunters into the "flattops" and chased mountain lion and bear all over the "western slope". Del is a pro-gun, pro-hunting activist and knows the ins and outs of political reality. Where gun ownership and hunting rights are concerned, he will not compromise. He has the experience and knowledge to effectively serve on the WAC board.

If you are a member of WAC already, you will be receiving a ballot in the next issue of WAC Gun News. If you would like more information on WAC, call Don Roberts at (360) 457-1846.
