OA-93PT with stock detached, and stored on the FIRSH handguard assembly.
Once again, leading the industry in product innovations, Olympic Arms proudly introduces the next model in the OA-93 line of AR-15 style rifles; the OA-93PT. The OA-93PT is a post ban variation of the original OA-93 Carbine, which was a pre-ban side folding AR style carbine.
However, with the Crime Bill of 1994 still in effect, the folding stock option is no longer a legal option on a post-ban production AR carbine. So since we cannot have a folding or collapsible stock, we decided to make this one with a completely detachable stock.
Here is how it works. To the right you can see the stock adapter and the push-button release/lock. A simple push of the button releases the stock, and slipping the stock back over the adapter until it latches, locks it in place. |

Fully disconnected, it looks like this from the top. (The stock of course is cut off in the picture to show a close up detail of the latch button system) |
From the back, the OA-93PT looks like this with the stock fully detached, and in its stow-away position, locked onto the FIRSH rail handguard of the carbine.
The unique operating system of the OA-93 PT allows for the stock to be removed and the weapon to remain operable. To do this, the recoil system has been relocated from what would normally be the buttstock assembly, to an operations rod that runs over the top of the barrel. (see the pictures at the top of the page)

The OA-93 PT carbine is only available from Olympic Arms, Inc. Because of the patented OA-93 operations system, this weapon is not only unique, it is exclusive.
Deliveries to begin mid-summer 2003.
